Carbide files provide precise control for finishing operations.

Proper Filing Technique

  • Apply pressure on the forward stroke only
  • Lift the file slightly on the return stroke
  • Use full length strokes when possible
  • Keep the file clean with a file card
  • Match cut pattern to material hardness

Diamond-coated surface for the hardest materials. Ideal for ceramics, glass, carbide, and hardened tool steel.

CBN Files

Cubic Boron Nitride for ferrous materials. Excellent heat resistance. Ideal for hardened steel where diamond may react.

Best For: Hardened ferrous

HSS Files

High-speed steel for softer materials and general use. Most economical initial cost but shorter life than carbide.
